Christine Stobbe

Christine, a native English speaker, is the owner and editor at Play On Words Editing. Words are her passion, and stories are her delight! She is the independent author/publisher of the ten-book historical fantasy Dragon's Fire Series, a full-service editor for award-winning freelance clients, and a copyeditor and published author for StoryShopUSA. She has edited blogs, articles, resumes, social media posts, and advertisements, in addition to dozens of books. She holds a professional editing certificate from Mount Royal University and has over a decade of editing experience.

After graduating from high school with high honors in English, Christine learned editing on the job with Reconciliation Press, editing fiction manuscripts and writing short stories, novels, and study guides for the company. After six years at RP, she took time off to raise her family and tutored students from first through eighth grade in English and Creative Writing.

In 2016, she resumed her work as an editor for freelance clients and began writing the Dragon's Fire Series. In 2018, she became a copyeditor for StoryShopUSA, where the staff calls her The Finalizer because they claim she misses nothing.

Christine holds certificates for professional editing and for business writing and editing from Mount Royal University. She graduated in the spring of 2022 with a GPA of 4.0 and an overall average final mark in her program of 99%. Her lowest final mark in any course was 97%, demonstrating that she can perform editing tasks on a variety of documents with excellence.

Christine prides herself on thorough work, leaving no stone unturned in her quest to make your writing the best it can be. While her markups can look intimidating, she's happy to help authors work through her suggestions and changes.

It's YOUR writing. Let's collaborate and make it shine!
